married!

March 10, 2011

remember these two? yeah, of course you do! well, they were smart cookies and decided to do a bridal/groomal session before their actual wedding day. it was like a dress rehearsal only lots more fun! and without all the stress and hubbub of the big day, we got to relax and take photos on our own schedule. i highly recommend this to any bride and groom!

we traveled down to the san diego temple and even though it was technically closed, we got special permission to photograph. the weather was gorgeous – blue skies all around!

and i’m sure it makes janae happy too!

i had such a fun time on this shoot with her. i was able to give the kids away to grandma, and just focus on doing some fun photography. i have to admit, it’s been a while since i could do that! i swear, whoever decided to try and do a photography business with 2 kids? oh yeah, that was me. well, i am crazy for doing it, but i love it so much that i just can’t stop!

ps: this is my favorite shot of the day. isn’t she just gorgeous?!

some days i dream of having a little girl. in a house full of men, i am always outnumbered. i don’t get to revel in sequins and sparkles, but rather am surrounded by tugboats and trucks.

so sometimes, i take that moment to just dream. dream of the day when i may get to have make-believe tea parties and dress up like a princess with my little girl. dream of the time when i can sew frilly, lacy things and actually use the color pink in a digital scrapbooking layout.

and while i wait and dream, i’ll continue to soak up the fun that my boys bring to my life. because i know this won’t last forever.

{ps: this is not an announcement of any kind, so don’t read too far into it. :) }

just a couple…

November 2, 2009

oh this fun family! these are friends of ours from our orange county days and i really like erin a lot. she’s so sweet and unassuming and just really has such a good heart. i loved being able to capture her and her family (those adorable little girls!) a while ago. we had an interesting session, as the girls weren’t loving the situation, but in the end i think we had a good show.

welcome, welcome, welcome!

it’s official! the launch of http://laurellakey.com as well as the launch of http://blog.laurellakey.com is finally here! i have been working on these for a good few weeks now, and i’m so excited to be able to share them with you! this is where i will post sneak peeks of recent sessions, giveaways, and even some tips and tricks on how to get better photos of your own!

and because this is such a momentous occasion, i want to celebrate by giving you an opportunity to save some cash. that’s right, any session that is booked before august 31st will receive a 50% discount on the session fee! so instead of paying the standard $150, your session would only be $75! this includes portraits, bridals, engagements, families, and children.

the session does not have to take place in august, it just has to be booked in august. so you could plan ahead for the elusive family christmas portraits and get ahead of the curve while saving money! but you have to hurry because spots have already started filling up, and i only take a set number of sessions per month (i do have a family and want to be able to spend some time with them, ha!).

also, if you want to keep up with all that we’re going to be up to here at the blog, please subscribe to the RSS feed by clicking on the black and white icon at the top right. and i love to hear from you — the good, the bad, and the unflattering. :) so leave a comment if you’d like.

and as always, if you’re interested in seeing more of my work, you can check out my website!

ttfn! (which, if you’re unfamiliar with the term, means “ta-ta for now”!)
